Slovenian Philosophical Society

The Slovenian Philosophical Society associates individuals working in the field of philosophy as their primary occupation and all others with a special interest in the development of philosophy and humanities as such. The main purpose and goal of the SPS are to maintain, stimulate and support the reflective, scientific, and professional work in the field of philosophy and the related sciences – from popularizing philosophy and educational work at all levels to the highest achievements in the field. Special emphasis is given to the development of philosophy in Slovenia as well as the cooperation with similar foreign organizations.
The Slovenian Philosophical Society has been recently recognized as a society of public interest in the field of culture in Slovenia. SPS is publishing the scientific journal ‘Anthropos’ and organizes lectures, meetings, competitions, publications as well as major philosophic symposia. In the past 3 years, the Society organized over 50 public activities. The Slovenian Philosophical Society is a leading promoter of the field of Humanities in Slovenia, including the field of Philosophy with Children. In recent years, the Society has organized several events and additional activities (e.g., the competition for high schools) on the topic of philosophy with children and digital learning in philosophy, as well as events with similar themes. The Society is among the first in the area to apply a hybrid format for the events and has invited several learning facilities to join us in our endeavor. The Society has a special informal section dedicated to the Philosophy with Children.
